From Waste to Local Energy

In Twente, Twence and fourteen municipalities have taken a new approach: household waste is processed locally into electricity, which now flows directly back to the municipalities.

With support from The Green World Company, Twence took the step from waste processor to fully-fledged energy provider. This model creates a closed local energy loop:

• Energy is generated locally
• Electricity is used locally
