Saba Hybrid Plant Dutch Caribbean


Realization of a unique solar park on Saba, whereby the entire island is fully supplied with energy from the sun and batteries during the day.

On Saba, a special municipality of the Netherlands in the Caribbean, in collaboration with client, Saba Electric Company B.V. a solar project with electricity storage realized. For the first time in history during the day, the island is no longer dependent on diesel generators and runs entirely on sun and batteries. The total energy demand is supplied by a 2.1 MW solar PV installation, combined with a ramp-up battery system. Specific requirements for this system are: Exposure to salty air, hurricanes, fast cloud movement, steep slope to stabilize the grid.
